If you think of the word ‘entrepreneur’ what do you think of? Likely, it conjures up images of Elon Musk’s mission to Mars, Aliko Dangote selling cement from his boot, Sarah Blakey crafting shape-defining underwear, Henry Ford creating his version of ‘faster horses’, or Apple’s Steve Jobs putting 1000 songs in your pocket. The commonality with all these entrepreneurs is that they managed to creep into our collective storymind. The reason why these stories stick is because they follow universal narrative themes. It’s increasingly clear that in order for our businesses to rise above the noise, we need to weave these themes into our own stories. In November 2021, Heavy Chef is hosting two of Africa’s most exciting storytelling talents, Lauren Beukes, author of Shining GIrls, and Mahole Mashigo, author of The Yearning, to join South Africa's student of storytelling, the award-winning Pierre du Plessis - with the aim of uncovering the secrets to better stories for your business.
